I attended hundreds of these famous speaker movie events. I also made drawings and sketches of the keynote speakers on stage from the theater seat with my pen, pencils and drawing paper. was trying to have a single subject art teaching credential to teach art at California public schools.
This is the largest college I have ever attended, with a little over 60,000 thousand students from all over Orange County and Los Angeles most who commute to Long Beach, it feels very easy to get lost in the system and just seen by the staff, some of not so great teachers here, and the school staff workers in general as just another number, and not seen as an individual with unique wants or needs you might have for yourself as a student here on campus. This is a great school, a very ambitious school to be attending that requires everything you got in you, but very easy to get lost and possibly left behind in unless you are a fighter and don't quit but advocate for yourself almost every day! Sink or swim this is Long Beach State, good grades do not come easily in many of the classes you take, you might be in over your head!
The school at CSULB has way to much office politics and red tape, it could be a much better school if you trimmed the unneeded fat and got rid of all tenure protection for the staff and teachers. Tenure it seems keeps teachers and staff from actually helping you or working with as a student who comes to them for support or help. Almost everyone it seems wants retirement checks much more than showing leadership and doing their job beyond the minimum requirement for show for the superiors watching them, for it to seem like they were working and awesome from the outside looking in. CSULB thinks it is an A plus school but really it is only a B or B minus school because of the lack of empathy from the staff and teachers. The campus is great, the other students are great. They just need a new policy for making the experience more student friendly and helpful with completing your degree on time.
Along with the required credential courses I take extra art classes such as Ceramics, Art History, Film Programs Stand Up Comedy Writing, Character Design Drawing, Karate 1, and of course my passion of Hip Hop Dancing.
